To much fanfare, the MV “HSL Geraldton”, made its debut visit at the Port of Geraldton, the very inspiration behind one of Hudson’s latest additions to its eco-friendly Clean&Green™ HSL Series bulk carriers. Geraldton, a bustling port in Western Australia, has long been a frequently visited locale for Hudson, and a hub for global trade where Hudson has established lasting partnerships.
Upon arrival, the MV “HSL Geraldton” was greeted by a stunning water display from three Switzer tugs, creating a sparkling rainbow effect overhead —a breathtaking moment for the crowd of excited onlookers.
The celebration brought together a group of esteemed community and industry leaders who joined Hudson in marking this occasion, including Geraldton Mayor Jerry Clune, who graciously welcomed attendees, and special guest Donna Ronan, an emerging Elder from the Nhanagardi Wilunyu People. Harbour Master Heathcliff Pimento commemorated the occasion by presenting a plaque to Captain Rainell B. Geraldo of the MV “HSL Geraldton.” Attendees enjoyed fun, food, and laughter, followed by an exclusive visit to the vessel at anchorage to get an up-close look at the ~40,528 metric ton marvel in action.
Built in 2025 at the renowned Namura Shipyard in Fukuoka, Japan, the MV “HSL Geraldton” showcases cutting-edge Japanese engineering and eco-innovations. With best-in-class fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and operational excellence, she exemplifies Hudson’s Clean&Green™ shipping standards. Hudson is delighted to share this milestone with a port that holds a special place in both our operations and our hearts. Thank you to everyone who joined the celebration and made this debut possible!
