Always in search of innovations that propel Hudson, and the environment, forward, our latest upgrade isn’t onboard, but underneath where it really counts!  

During her most recent drydock, the MV “HSL Chicago”, like many ships, got a fresh new hull coating. But this wasn’t just any paint.  This specialized silicon-based coating delivers multiple Clean&Green™ benefits; boosting efficiency while reducing environmental impact.

Over the course of three days, the MV “HSL Chicago” enjoyed the full spa treatment. Following inspection, her hull was buffed and washed before receiving three coats of BIOCLEAN PLUS, applied to ensure optimal performance.  The result is an ultra-smooth,  ultra-low friction surface that reduces drag, lowering fuel consumption, cutting costs, and most importantly, minimizing overall energy demand.

Beyond efficiency, the coating’s antifouling properties significantly reduce marine growth and help minimize the risk of cross-contamination of bio-organisms during marine transit.  That means cleaner sailing, reduced emissions, and happier oceans, a true win-win for the environment and for Hudson!
