Hudson’s highly trained personnel is constantly monitoring both short and long-term time charter rates, enabling us to make the most informed decisions possible. We are pleased to offer our customers a sampling of our rate estimates for the Panamax, Supramax, Ultramax and Handysize markets - just one of the many things that make us a leader in the space. We hope you enjoy this free market tool.

Panamax ships fit the original Panama Canal locks and carry 72,000–78,000 tons, offering flexible passage through both the Panama and Suez Canals.

Supramax ships carry 52,000–59,000 tons, access smaller ports with ease, and are more agile than Panamax vessels. Some are geared for self-loading.

Handysize ships carry 20,000–41,000 tons and are the most common bulk vessels. Their small size and onboard cranes let them operate easily in ports with limited facilities.

Hudson Shipping Lines operates Ultramax vessels (60,000–65,000 DWT) on this route, transporting bulk commodities such as coal, grains, and fertilizers.
